THAT'S A WRAP ON SOME OF SUMMER'S BIGGEST STARS
Weekly Market Report for Sept 2nd
Welcome to the Bondi Weekly Market Report — your rundown of what’s hot, what’s cooling off, and what’s coming next.
TIFF may be rolling out the red carpet this week, but the real action is happening in Toronto’s kitchens. For ten days, restaurants are just as essential as the premieres: kitchens firing on all cylinders, dining rooms packed late, and menus proving why Toronto’s food scene deserves the spotlight.
It’s one of the busiest weeks of the year for downtown chefs — and we’re here to keep you stocked, supported, and ready to bring your best.
At the same time, summer’s wrapping, fall crops are ramping, and we’ve got your backstage pass to what’s peaking, what’s winding down, and what’s about to drop.
Let’s get into it!
🚨TIFF: TIFF is taking over King Street — with some road closures in place. If you’re affected, you’ll have already heard from us about delivery adjustments.
📈 What’s Up? Prices are rising on snow peas and flat runner beans due to tighter supply and delayed harvests.
📉 What’s Down? Prices are easing on Napa cabbage, red and yellow peppers, acorn squash, iceberg lettuce, and shishito peppers as local supply improves and demand softens.
🍑 Leaving Soon: Peak-summer staples like raspberries, baby gold peaches, zucchini flowers, Cookstown arugula, cherry tomatoes, patty pans, and baby squash are winding down — stock up while you still can!
⭐️New Arrivals: Ontario-grown acorn and kabocha squash have landed!
☀️ On the Horizon: Watch for Sicilian eggplant, Puntarelle, Honeynut squash, and Koginut squash coming into season over the next month.
🟥 Supply Watch: A few shorts from last week worth noting — details below.
🌶️Pantry Pick of the Week: New Calabrian crunch chili crisp additions from Sabatino Tartufi!

🌶️ Pantry Pick of the Week 🌶️
Calabrian Crunch & Calabrian Truffle Crunch | Code 11608 & 11609
Newly added from our friends at Sabatino Tartufi: Two chili crisps worth clearing pantry space for!
Calabrian Crunch | Code 11608 — Crispy garlic, crushed Calabrian chilies, herbs, and silky olive oil. This one brings medium heat, bold savoury flavour, and serious versatility. Spoon it over eggs, swirl it into pasta, or finish roasted veg — it's your new go-to for adding an extra kick to your dishes.
Calabrian Truffle Crunch | Code 11609 — Leave it to Sabatino to flip the chili crisp trend on its head. Calabrian Truffle Crunch is everything we love in a pantry hero: crispy garlic, chili heat, silky olive oil, and a hit of real black truffle. It’s earthy, fiery, and ridiculously addictive.
