📉 What’s Down? Prices are trending down this week on cauliflower, yellow zucchini, daikon, and iceberg, with strong supply across the board and some regional quality variation.

🍑 New Local Arrivals: Summer flavours are hitting their stride — with Ontario sour cherries, apricots, and golden plums from Warner’s Farm, and ultra-crisp Barese cucumbers from Top Tomato all arriving fresh this week.

📈Price Increases📈

These items are experiencing a price surge this week:

  • GREEN PEPPERS (2988) - Recent heat waves have delayed the start of local pepper crops, but supply relief is expected by mid-next week.

  • SEEDLESS WATERMELON (3455) - Weather conditions have caused a temporary shortage in the market, driving up prices.

  • BRUSSELS SPROUTS (2225) - Limited yields and high demand are driving a supply shortage and pushing prices up temporarily.

  • CHINESE PEELED GARLIC (2531) - Rising demand and delayed shipments from China are driving this price increase. Expect elevated pricing to continue until supply levels out.

  • BLACKBERRIES (2191) - Limited supply due to weather and logistical challenges, coupled with strong, sustained demand.

  • GRAPE TOMATOES (3410 & 4643) - Recent heat waves have impacted greenhouse production, resulting in a temporary supply shortage.

  • CILANTRO (2352) - Short-term supply challenges for cilantro due to recent heat waves. High-quality product is especially limited.

  • ASSORTED TOMAOTES (4673, 4675 & 4676) - The transition to Virginia round tomatoes has pushed prices up, as supply has yet to fully ramp up.

  • GRAPE MEDLEY (4254) - Recent heat waves have impacted greenhouse production, leading to a temporary supply shortage.

  • JALAPENO PEPPERS (2994) - Recent heat waves have delayed the start of local pepper crops, but supply relief is expected by mid-next week.

  • SERRANO, SHISHITO, POBLANO & HOT BANANA PEPPERS (3696, 3019, 3699 & 2976) - Wrapping up the Florida and Mexican seasons — pricing is expected to stabilize as we transition to local product in the coming weeks.

  • TOMATO HOT HOUSE (7381) - Recent heat waves have impacted greenhouse production, leading to a temporary shortage of tomatoes. Supply is expected to rebound soon.

  • YELLOW ZUCCHINI (3551) - Local crop yields have increased significantly, and prices have stabilized.

  • We’re currently experiencing a gap in fig supply that’s expected to last about two weeks. We’ll keep you updated as soon as they’re back in stock.

B&W Farm Weather Impact - Watercress & Arugula Supply Alert 

  • Our supplier B&W is still recovering from the severe storm that caused major crop losses last week. Order fulfillment will remain limited over the next week or so as they work to rebuild supply.

  • Granny Smith Apples | Code 1922 — The shift from U.S. to Ontario supply caused some temporary disruptions, but availability has stabilized.

  • Horseradish | Code 2576 — We're experiencing a short-term gap in horseradish supply.

  • Shiitake Mushrooms | Code 2786 — High demand and slower growth from last week’s heat caused a brief shortage — now back in stock.

  • Strawberry Purée | Code 8852 — Minor transport delay caused a brief shortage. Now fully restocked.

Ontario Bella Casara Burrata | Code 6840

If summer had a cheese, this would be it. Made right here in Ontario, Bella Casara Burrata is rich, creamy, and basically built for hot days and stone fruit season.

Tear it over grilled peaches, spoon it onto some Lev Bakery crostini (Code 11134), or let it melt into a tomato salad — you really can’t go wrong. It’s a warm-weather MVP that makes any plate feel a little extra (in the best way).
