Market Recap: What's Up, What's Down

📈Price Increases📈

These items are experiencing a price surge this week:

  • SEA ASPARAGUS - Increased freight costs and high demand have driven prices up.

  • GAILAN - Limited supply from Mexico due to quality rejections from vendors and a low yield of high-quality crops has lead to price increases.

  • RED LONG CHILI PEPPERS - Low supply and rising demand in Europe are driving this price increase.

  • KIWI - We're currently in a supply gap, and pricing is expected to stay at this level for the next few weeks.

  • NAPA CABBAGE - Limited supply from the U.S. as crops weren’t ready for harvest, creating a temporary gap. Availability is expected to improve by the end of the week.

  • GRANA PADANO - Prices for Italian cheeses are set to increase across the board.

  • BLACKBERRIES - As growing regions wind down, berry quality is declining, leading to higher prices.

  • TOMATOES - Due to U.S. tariff issues, demand for Mexican tomatoes has surged. We're sourcing from Mexico for now.

  • LIMES - Uncertainty from U.S. tariffs has created market volatility, with lime prices expected to stay high due to low import volumes from Mexico.

  • YELLOW & FANCY ZUCCHINI - A cold front affected zucchini harvests across all varieties, leading to limited availability.

📉Price Drops📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

  • ASPARAGUS - Increased availability of asparagus has improved supply, leading to a drop in prices.

  • CHINESE EGGPLANT - Better availability of Chinese eggplants has boosted supply, bringing prices down.

  • CURLY PARSLEY - Greater availability of curly parsley has strengthened supply, leading to lower prices.

  • ITALIAN PARSLEY - Improved supply of Italian parsley has increased availability, driving prices down.

  • Radicchio Rosa (4169) - As the season gradually winds down for Radicchio Rosa, supply shortages are expected to begin.

  • Apple Cider (1829) - We’re anticipating a temporary supply gap for apple cider.

  • Cranberry Kombucha (4747) - Due to a production delay at Greenhouse, our supply of Cranberry Kombucha is currently unavailable. No confirmed ETA at this time, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as more details become available.
