🌽🌽What’s the difference?🌽🌽

You may have noticed we made a shift to Ontario Corn last week! We have two fantastic options from local farms: Welsh Brothers and Kozicki Produce. Both are excellent choices! Here’s the scoop: Welsh Brothers corn is graded more specifically and tends to be larger in size. So, you’ll get 48 pieces per case from Welsh and 60 pieces per case from Kozicki, but both cases will weigh the same. Enjoy!

We get it—corn is in season, you're enjoying afternoon strolls, sipping patio beers, and munching on fresh strawberries. Soak it all up! But remember, December is only five months away. Soon enough, it will roll around, and you'll be feeling down, daydreaming about Ontario peach or a crunchy cucumber to lift your spirits. Capture that summer joy: pickle it, can it, ferment it, jam it, and most importantly, save it to crack open during those winter blues! You'll be glad you did.

Red Flags – Get the scoop on shortages

All Wrapped Up!

These items are finished up for the season. Ask your rep for recommendations on substitutes.

  • Partanna Olive Oil in 10L jugs - Sold out of this size and waiting for a new shipment to arrive from Italy. Sub in OLIVE OIL PARTANNA EVOO 4/3 L

  • Stracciatella- Shortage from Belgioioso this week. Ask your rep about subbing in Quality Cheese brand

  • Ontario Asparagus - Finished up for the season!

  • Green Strawberries - Finished up for the season!

Short Ship Sparks Notes

  • Avocados -The latest batch of avocados is experiencing a slower ripening process. We're keeping a close eye on our stock to ensure we don't send out unripe or overripe fruit, but July presents a unique challenge. This month is notoriously difficult for avocados due to the transition to the new crop, which initially has lower oil content, causing them to ripen more slowly and sometimes unevenly. Price expected to lower next week as well!

  • Yukon Potatoes - We are continuing to source Yukons from Earth Fresh and Mid Isle this week. However, we anticipate transitioning to a new supplier next week as the current suppliers conclude their storage crop availability.

  • Grape Tomato - There are no anticipated issues for this week. All products being utilized are now sourced from Canada.

  • Hot Peppers - Growing specialty hot peppers are having issues due rain and flooding in growing regions. This caused shortages and lower quality peppers last week

  • Frozen Mango - Market shortage! None of our vendors had the product available. We were able to source it late last week, and it is now available again.

  • Brussel Sprouts - Experiencing seasonal issues. Expecting new California crop in a couple of weeks.

  • Pineapple - Moved into a new batch, and it's much better quality!
