Market Recap – What’s up, what’s down

📈Price Increases📈

These items are experiencing a price surge this week:

  • POTATO YUKON GOLD CHEF (code 3127) - We've completed our inventory of Yukon’s from Earth Fresh and Mid Isle and are now moving to a new supplier. As the current suppliers have finished their storage crop availability, this transition will result in a slight price increase.

  • GRAPE GREEN SEEDLESS (code 2543) - At the beginning of July, there was a reduction in prices; however, they have gradually increased since then. Anticipate these fluctuations to persist.

  • PINEAPPLE GOLDEN (code 3040) - We've tackled last week's quality issues, and the new batch is here with a big improvement in quality. However, this has led to a slight price increase.

Red Flags – Get the scoop on shortages

Short Ship Sparks Notes

  • Brussel Sprouts - Experiencing seasonal issues. Expecting new California crop in a couple of weeks.

  • Pineapple - Great news! We've tackled last week's quality issues, and the new batch is here with a significant improvement in quality. However, this upgrade has led to a slight price increase.

  • Habanero Peppers - Product availability has been inconsistent due to recent heavy rains in the Dominican Republic, leading to a tighter market.

  • Zucchini Flowers (female)- Adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall, can significantly impact the availability of products, potentially leading to shortages.

  • Sprouts (Micro Mint, Amaranth, Zesty mix) -Certain seedlings are exhibiting reduced growth rates as a result of poor weather conditions.

  • Figs - Big gap last week on figs. All good for this week. Figs coming from Turkey, sizing is nice and large, product quality is good

  • Edible Flowers - Customs delays leading to shortages

  • Hot Peppers - Growing specialty hot peppers are having issues due rain and flooding in growing regions. This caused shortages and lower quality peppers last week
