📈 What’s Up?: We’re seeing price increases on green beans, dill weed, Pecorino Romano, bok choy, taro root, Swiss Gruyère, red cabbage, grapes, green papaya, dried guajillo peppers, and red petite meadow sorrel due to factors such as tight supply, quality issues, and rising freight costs.

Market Recap: What's Up, What's Down

📈Price Increases📈

These items are experiencing a price surge this week:

  • GREEN BEANS - the Mexican season winds down, we're increasingly relying on U.S. product for green beans. These are subject to the import tariff, and we're entering a historically high season. Expect elevated prices for the next few weeks.

  • DILL WEED - Tight supply and increased demand are driving dill weed prices higher. We're experiencing a short-term gap in availability but expect pricing to stabilize by next week as new harvests come online.

  • PECORINO ROMANO LUPA - DOP product pricing is up due to increased freight costs and market adjustments.

  • WHITE CREAMER “C” POTATOES - Due to the shift from Canadian to Florida stock, white creamer C potato prices have risen, though we expect a slight easing by next week.

  • BOK CHOY & BABY BOK CHOY - Quality issues are limiting supply on Mexican bok choy, keeping the market tight.

  • TARO ROOT - Taro root supply from Mexico is limited, leading to smaller sizes and elevated FOB costs.

  • SWISS GRUYERE - Gruyère prices are rising due to increased freight costs and higher raw material prices.

  • RED CABBAGE - Local supply is winding down as we transition to U.S.-grown product. Expect a temporary price increase during the transition period.

  • RED & GREEN GRAPES - The Peruvian grape season is winding down, resulting in an increase in prices due to reduced supply.

  • GREEN PAPAYA - Due to low supply and quality concerns with Guatemalan product, we’ve transitioned to sourcing from Panama to ensure consistency and availability.

  • PEPPER GUAJILLO DRIED - Prices are up due to rising freight costs impacting overall product sourcing and delivery.

  • RED PETITE MEADOW SORREL - Prices are increasing due to rising freight costs.

📉Price Drops📉

These items have dropped in price this week:

  • LONG RED CHILI PEPPER - Spanish supply is finishing strong ahead of the Holland season, leading to a price decrease as availability improves.

  • TOMATO (4675 & 4674) - Florida tomato production is ramping up, driving prices down. Quality is excellent, and further decreases are expected as supply increases.

  • LIMES - Lime prices dipped as fresh crops ramp up in Tabasco and Veracruz, Mexico, and although overall prices remain relatively high, they’re expected to hold steady over the next few weeks.

  • ROMANESCO - Improved supply on Romanesco is bringing prices down.
